Solomon the Philosopher, the Scientist, the Teacher and the Apologeticist

In 1 Kings 4:32-34 King Solomon displays how he used his gift of wisdom.
The Philosopher- Verse 32- “And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.”

As a Philosopher he shared wisdom about life as written in the book of a proverbs and Ecclesiastes. Today’s philosophers base their thinking off of their own opinions but Solomon based his around God.
The Scientist- Verse 33- “And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.”

As a scientist Solomon shared his wisdom about creation, animals, trees and like other scientists in the Bible such as a Job he was a creationist.
The Teacher- Verse 34- “And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.”

Solomon was also such a wise teacher that Kings and Queens came to hear him. We should also share the wisdom God has given us and teach others.
The Apologeticist- As seen in chapter 8, King Solomon was also an apologeticist as he answered questions for the Queen of sheeba. She came to test his knowledge and see if he was truly wise or just a fable.

“And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the Lord, she came to prove him with hard questions.”

‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭10:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The Queen came to prove him which means to test his wisdom. Reading through verses 1-5 she asked him all she had in her heart and he was able to show his wisdom that only god could give. The Bible also says she asked him hard questions. They were probably ones that nobody could answer without the wisdom from God.
Conclusion- As a Christian we are all philosophers, scientists, teachers and apologeticists as we share the wisdom of life in the Bible, explain how God created everything, teach others about the things of God and defend our faith for why we believe in God. Jesus also defended his beliefs by debating and teaching. We should also follow his example.
